Apex Teachers Honored in Shoutout Tuesday

Apex, N.C. – Middle Creek High School is celebrating two educators during this week's Shoutout Tuesday. The Apex Foundation highlighted English teacher Josh Matteau and biology teacher Douglas Greenberg for their contributions to the school community.

Matteau is known for creating an inclusive classroom environment where all students can express themselves freely while gifted students have opportunities to further develop their skills. He is credited with building the school's creative writing program from the ground up and organizing an annual event for students to present their poetry, stories, and songs.

Greenberg teaches AP Biology and standard Biology courses. He challenges students to think critically and take ownership of their learning through creative laboratory work, writing activities, and hands-on lessons. In addition to his classroom responsibilities, Greenberg also coaches school sports teams, helping students grow as both athletes and individuals.

Contributors to the Shoutout Tuesday celebration include Middle Creek High School PTSA, FRESH Local Ice Cream, McDonald’s in Apex and Harnett County, the Town of Apex Government, and Wake County Public School System.
